As the first event to flag off the 20th SFW, this special evening will toast both the 30th anniversary of AFTEX (ASEAN Federation of Textile Industries), and Singapore’s debut as a member of the Asian Fashion Federation, the first country to be invited by the founding members of China, Japan and Korea. Stoking this mood, the evening’s highlight will be the runway collections from the representative AFF countries. Headlining for Singapore will be Daniel Yam, joined by Liang Zi of China, Masako Oka of Japan, and La Sae-Young and Lee Jong-Chul of Korea.

Once again, the glamour-charged evening will be awash with sanguine South African touches. There will be the resounding drum beats of South African dance troupe, Moretheto Rhythms of SA, as well as the swirl of their exotic fashions featuring Stoned Cherrie by Nkhensani Nkosi and Kluk CGDT by Malcolm Kluk & Christiaan Gabriel Du Toit. Their excellent wines will also be the party’s tipple of choice throughout the gala dinner, courtesy of the South African High Commission.
