Presented by VivoCity, SFDC is a nationwide search for the next ingénue in Singapore's fashion industry. This contest has become a crucial platform for the career launch of up-and-coming fashion designers. Many of the finalists and winners of SFDC have either successfully established their own retail labels or are playing key roles in fashion-related businesses. As in the past, the first and second prize winners of the SFDC will represent Singapore in the Asian Young Fashion Designers Contest (AYFDC). held two days later at the same venue. Apart from the S$8,000 cash prize, the SFDC winner will also receive an internship programme in New York with internationally famous designer Vivienne Tam.
