FASHION-TECH SOLUTIONS CONFERENCE
To be held over three days from Monday 15th October, this annual conference touches on various aspects of fashion, textile, business and technology, specially designed for all the manufacturers, retailers, designers, buyers, entrepreneurs in the textile and fashion industry. Organised by Textile & Fashion Industry Training Centre Pte Ltd (TaF.tc) – the Training arm of Textile & Fashion Federation (Singapore), participants attending any of the talks can learn and update themselves with the latest developments in trade and innovations in the know-how and technology of the fashion industry directly from the experts. Professional and renowned speakers from the industry will share their knowledge on business strategies, latest fashion trends, logistics solutions, product development, case study etc. The first day is effectively the Asia Fashion Federation Seminar. In a half day session, the topic of “Asia Fashion Trends – From Retail to the Streets” will be presented by keynote speakers from four member countries of China, Japan, Korea and Singapore. Mrs Helen Khoo, Executive Director of Wing Tai Retail Pte Ltd will be Singapore’s keynote speaker. There will also be a Panel Discussion on Asia’s position in the Fashion Firmament - The secret of competition with international brands and how Asia’s rising stars can make it big. The panel discussion is chaired by Mr Colin McDowell, Senior Fashion Writer of UK’s The Sunday Times Style; .and moderated by Ms Elim Chew, Managing Director of 77th Street (S) Pte Ltd. The second day will be dedicated to International Trade and Business covering specific topics like Understanding and Preparing for Antidumping and Countervailing Duty Investigations, Business Climate and Anti-Dumping Threat in Vietnam, Landed Duty Paid (L.D.P) vs Free On Board (FOB), International Labour Organisation: Better Factories Cambodia Monitoring Programme, Cambodia: The Garment Sector Overviewand ILO BFC Programme, Fabrics in Short Supply: Unexploited Benefits of the U.S. – Singapore FTA, and Emerging Retail Markets of China, India, Brazil, UAE and South Africa. The third day will be the dedicated Eco Conference. Speakers will cover the Introduction of Eco Textiles, Eco Friendly Dyeing, Cotton: From Organic to Sustainablel The Ocko-Tex Label in Sales and Marketing, Natural Dyes on Cotton: The Advantages and Disadvantages, Natural Dyes and their Fastness Programme, Vicose, Modal and Lyocell: What are their differences ?
