Addy Lee is one of Singapore’s most sought after hair stylist by top local celebrities, fashion labels and the elite of society for his cutting-edge and creative hair designs. BRINGING SOUTH AFRICAN SPIRIT TO SINGAPORE FASHION WEEK 2007
The Singapore Fashion Week 2007 provides a world-class stage for the High Commission to exhibit South African fashion, dance and wine. I believe that this event will help to position designers to compete more effectively in what is an increasingly fast-moving and global marketplace.
South Africa's high-fashion designers tend to towards a fusion of classical European trends, with some subtle or not-so-subtle African touches - and the odd, totally off-the-wall feature. Nkhensani Nkosi of Stoned Cherrie and Malcolm Kluk of KLuK CGDT are representatives of this exciting and emerging group of South African designers.
We have the utmost respect for the enormous creativity to be found in Asia and participating in the process of unleashing and promoting that creativity, here at SFW07 in Singapore, is an enormous honour.
I sincerely hope that by bringing some South African spirit to SFW07 will allow everybody to go home with something unique. Most of all, we view collaborative events like these to give life and to strengthen the goodwill and the spirit of the cordial diplomatic relations between South Africa and Singapore.

Iconic Design
Just as the name is a departure from the norm, so too is the architecture. Designed by internationally acclaimed Japanese architect, Toyo Ito, VivoCity's iconic architecture sets it apart from the traditional box format of many existing and upcoming retail developments in the region. Mr Ito based his design for VivoCity on a "Surfing" theme. It was inspired by the harbour front location of the development, which evokes images of waves on the sea. Wanting to create a fluid shopping enjoyment where one space leads intuitively into another, Mr Ito built a structure that does not separate the space by floor, but is connected as one continuous experience.
Art in the City
VivoCity has also unveiled a collection of international artworks specially commissioned by Mapletree, its developer, for VivoCity, as part of the Singapore Biennale 2006. Commissioned at a cost of more than S$1.5 Million, the collection comprises 7 extraordinary outdoor artworks by six international artists and were the only ones from the Biennale to be permanently installed.

VivoCity is accessible through all modes of transport. VivoCity is connected to the HarbourFront MRT station and the North-East Line. By 2010, the Circle Line will be fully complete, linking all radial lines leading to the city.
